Skid Lidz are
specialists in Sport Headgear Protection. We aim to provide sales and
advise on any products which can be worn on, and protect, your head. On
a family group ski holiday in 2005, we noticed that most kids in ski
school were wearing helmets, boarders were wearing helmets, but skiers
were trailing behind. When we saw a lady get caught on the back of her
head by a chair lift, resulting in a lot of red snow and a spoiled
holiday, we realised that it wasn’t just high speed collisions that we
need helmets for.
So we started
supplying helmets, goggles and sunglasses for winter sports, and very
quickly noticed how safety aware we are becoming in the UK. We all want
to enjoy active lives, but more than ever, we want to do it safely. In
North America, ski helmets are already the norm, probably following
several high profile accidents resulting in severe head injuries. Most
European ski schools now recommend helmets, and it’s compulsory for
children in Italy and some Scandinavian countries. Even the medical
press and news media say that helmets could prevent severe injury and
even death, whilst allowing us to enjoy our sports to the full.
Our success means
that we will now operate throughout the year in winter and summer sports
headgear protection, selling some of the best brands with the most
technically advanced safety features available. Oh, and we won’t forget
that style and good looks are key!
The Skid Lidz staff
comprises of: Jed, a skate and snowboard addict who spends much of his
day in front of a computer screen – much to his disgust; Gary, who does
all sports fairly badly to be honest, but at least he tries; Lou, Jen
and Helen who pretty much run things around here, whilst our last team
player, Rob tries to find you the best products at the greatest prices.
As well as being big sports fanatics, and having a bunch of kids who
can’t stay still for 5 minutes without kicking a ball, catching big air
off a ramp, or scraping the skin off their knees, our work lives to date
have concentrated on technology, marketing and sales, and sportswear, so
we reckon we’re pretty well set to give you what you need in head
protection with outstanding service. All our products come with full
